My Blog

Over the past several months, I have been attending classes in order to achieve the 36 hours of "continuing education" credits I need to renew my chiropractic license. I usually choose something in the field of nutrition, and this time is no different. The course topic is inflammation and its effects on the body, so I would like to write a little about that today.

Inflammation is the body's response to anything that may potentially harm us. It is a normal part of the healing process and can be beneficial on a short term basis. However, repeated events that cause this response to take place can set us up for trouble down the road.

The physical signs of inflammation are quite common, and most people are familiar with them. Redness, swelling, pain, and increased temperature are a few of the signs, but did you know that inflammation can be taking place without obvious signs? In fact, most people don't even know that they are chronically inflamed.

Long term effects of chronic inflammation can lead to a variety of problems. High blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, and many auto-immune diseases can all be linked back to a state of chronic inflammation. So the question is, how do we decrease inflammation and avoid all of this?

I have a pamphlet you can read regarding reducing inflammation. CLICK HERE to download and read it. I find that it is very informative and can help you begin the process of reducing inflammation in your body.

As always, if we can be of any help to you, just call the office.

Thanks for reading!
